Deh Abroad Village started with a simple question: how can people living abroad support “back home” and Africa in a real and steady way? Our founders began by visiting communities in Jamaica and later in Nairobi, Kenya. They brought school supplies, games, and simple care packages, but more important than the items was the time spent listening.
Those small visits turned into trusted relationships. Families opened their doors, teachers shared their challenges, and community leaders explained what they needed most. Out of these visits came three clear areas of focus: rebuilding homes after storms, supporting small libraries and schools, and creating safe spaces for children to learn.
Today, Deh Abroad Village continues that same approach. We move slowly and honestly, following the lead of local partners on the ground.

We keep our focus narrow so we can stay faithful to our word and our partners.
After storms like Hurricane Melissa, we help families repair or rebuild homes and support community centers serving children and elders.
We support small libraries and classrooms with books, shelves, games, and basic supplies so children have a place to learn.
Toilets, clean water, simple repairs, and meals help students focus in class. These basic needs are part of our support for schools.
We do our best to keep things clear and grounded.
